Members vs Non-members

Non-members are welcome to order once the general ordering window opens each week. They can select individual fruits and vegetables at standard prices, based on what remains available after Members have placed their orders. Availability is on a first come, first served basis, meaning some items may sell out before non-member ordering begins. It’s a flexible way to enjoy our produce without commitment, ideal for those who prefer to order occasionally or explore what’s in season.

How Membership works

Becoming a member is simple, transparent and designed to keep both farming and ordering completely stress-free.

We want you to enjoy the season and your produce, not worry about logistics.

In a nutshell:

  • Complete a short questionnaire so we understand your preferences
  • Reserve your membership place with a small deposit
  • Pick up your bounty packages and top-ups for the season
  • Set up your direct debit (6 monthly payments, May–October)
  • Start selecting your weekly produce once the season begins

So let's discover how your journey unfolds in more detail:

First, you complete a short questionnaire so we can understand your preferences: what you love, what you would rather avoid and how you like to receive your produce. This helps us shape our harvest and your experience around real people, not anonymous orders.

Next, you reserve your place with a small £10 deposit (which counts towards your plan). This allows us to plan our planting responsibly and ensures your spot is secured for the season.

Next comes your bounty package selection for the season, explained into more detail below! Once your personal harvest basket is selected, you then set up a direct debit with six monthly payments, spread evenly from May to October. This keeps payments predictable for you and allows us to grow steadily and sustainably.

Once the season begins, you can start selecting your weekly produce through your member account, choosing what goes into your box based on availability and your personal tastes.

Bounties explained

We use “Bounties” to manage the orders of our members.

A bounty sample

Think of a Bounty as your personal harvest basket, pre-planned but fully customisable.

A bounty is simply a package of portions of fruits and vegetables that you select each week from what is in season. Instead of buying individual portions/items one by one, you choose a set number of portions grouped together, giving you flexibility, better value, and guaranteed access to our produce.

It works like this: you decide how many items you want per week (your bounty size), and when the ordering window opens, you fill it with the fruits and vegetables you love from that week’s available list. Same structure every week, different flavours every time. And if you fancy a little extra from time to time, a few top up bounties kept in reserve will do the trick!

Give me the numbers!

  • Mini Bounty: 5 items, cost £12.20 (excluding delivery)
  • Full Bounty: 10 items, cost £22 (excluding delivery)
  • Top up Bounty: 4 extra items, cost £10 (excluding delivery)

The overall cost of monthly payments will depend on the package selected. There will be 1 delivery per week of the selected Bounties for 20 weeks.

How big are the portions in the bounties?

Portions are similar to the portions that are offered in supermarkets. For example, a portion of Pentland Javelin potatoes will be 1kg. A portion of strawberries will be 250 grams. A full list of portions that will be used for the 2026 season can be found in the “How we portion our produce” section.

Why do you offer “Top up Bounties”?

Because we understand that not everything can be planned in advance, if you have pre-purchased 1 x Mini Bounty per week and you decide to have a special dinner, 5 items may not be enough. This is the time to use your pre-purchased “Top-up Bounty” to get 4 more portions of your desired veggies/fruits.

How many “Top up Bounties” can I purchase?

There is no limit to the number you can buy, if you tend to stick to the list every time you go to the supermarket then we suggest selecting 4, to be used perhaps once every 5 weeks during the 20-week season.

Can a Bounty be made up of several portions of the same type of fruit or vegetable?

This will depend on the time of the season. All going well, in the summer there will be enough surplus to accommodate Bounties made up of multiple portions of the same vegetable/fruit. Early and late in the harvest season this may not be possible. Quantities will be updated on a weekly basis and members will be given priority over non-members to select multiple quantities of each type subject to availability.

Bounty with tomatoes

Well, this is all way too complicated, I want a few examples!

Certainly!

Example 1: You have pre-purchased a Full Bounty (10 items every week for 20 weeks). It is Thursday night and the order window is now open. You select from the available produce 10 single portions of 10 different items (or 5 double portions of 5 different items, or any combination you choose totaling 10 items). You then conclude your order and we send you a confirmation email with all the details. We then deliver your order to your door at the specified time slot. Repeat this process for the remaining 19 weeks!

Example 2: You have pre-purchased 1 x Mini Bounty (5 items every week for 20 weeks) and 5 x Top Up Bounties. It is Thursday night and the order window is now open. But it is July and you are really craving for some strawberries, and you also want to try a new recipe from Jamie Oliver. You decide wisely to use one of your Top Up Bounties (4 items) too. Your order is finalised and we deliver your order to your door at the specified time slot. Repeat this process for the remaining 19 weeks, using your remaining 4 x Top Up Bounties as desired.
